Dubbed as "San Francisco's most
awesomest annual music festival"
by Fader magazine, the Noise Pop Music
Festival is a torch bearer of noisy
indie pop that has been around for over
a decade.
Noise Pop has announced its 2009 dates, and is currently taking submissions for bands and films right now. Badges will go on sale in December.
Noise Pop started in 1993 as a one night deal
with 5 bands in a small club, but has
grown over time to include multiple days,
multiple locations, film screenings, panels,
and art. It has played host the Flaming
Lips doing a boombox experiment, Frank
Black and the Catholics doing Pixies songs,
Death Cab For Cutie, 16 Deluxe, and more.
They even tried to spawn a sister Noise
Pop in Chicago in 2000.
So far, films for 2009 include “Johnny Cash at Folsom Prison” and “Agile Mobile Hostile: A Year with Andre Williams.”
Noise Pop has named a few initial bands for its 2009 lineup!
