Currently on a world wide tour, Nire is set to release their first full length album, Vespers, via Abandoned Love Records on October 9, 2007. Based in Portland, Oregon, the masterminds behind Nire are Erin Morgan and Josh Hinton.
Their label calls Vespers a hushed and intimate lo-fi album with rich songwriting. The actual instrumentation of the record is few and far between, because it was self-recorded and mixed in their Portland home using primarily acoustic guitar and a collection of old Casio keyboards.
Abandoned Love Records released the track Girl in the Moon from the upcoming album on their site, and it's been well received by old fans and new comers to the group. Hence the fall US tour beginning directly after their travels through Ireland, London, Austria and Germany. But, really, who could go wrong with boy/girl vocals and a Casiotone? I fully expect nothing but glowing reviews all around.
