Fox Newscorp taketh away, an MySpace friend Tom giveth back. In what is hopefully NOT the beginning of repeating scenario, MySpace has decided to start alloting certain MySpace addresses to FOX TV shows. So it follows that the show Bones would get www.myspace.com/bones , which was already the home to Baton Rouge indie band Bones.
“Losing our URL was a complete surprise to us,” said Michael Miller (upright/electric bass, vox). “We logged on one day and found David Boreantz staring back at us. It sucks because we’ve used that URL for almost 2 years to build our band name and fan base, and it’s on all of our product and posters. We’re as indie as it gets and can’t afford to reprint everything.”
But in a tale that warms the digital heart, Tom, aka the guy that shows up as you first friend at MySpace when you create an account (not to mention being one of the MySpace founders), has stepped in to try to restore the MySpace cred before things get out of control.
"I heard about what happened with your URL. I gave it back to ya...Sorry about that! As we grow in size, sometimes people make decisions I don't know about. This was obviously the wrong decision. The Bones URL is yours once again. :), " said Tom in a message to the band.
