By: Spacelab Research Staff Nine Black Alps have left Manchester and are bound to Los Angeles to record their second album. They'll be working with producer Dave Sardy (The Walkmen, Dandy Warhols), and hope to release the album early in 2007.
The band spent a good part of August in New York writing material. A message on their web site reads "For some, autumn is a time spent reaping the fruits of the year..s harvest in order to fatten up for the festive season and the dark winter months that lay ahead. However, such traditions are not for the likes of Nine Black Alps. Instead we witness them arduously packing suitcases with guitar strings, lyric books and pipe dreams in preparation for a period of feverish activity that will result in the eventual birth of their second album."
They released the first proper full-length earlier in 2006, titled Everything Is on Tiny Evil Records. The album was a mix of everything that we never think of when we think of Manchester these days... rock, punk, and loudness.
